Project "Photocleavable Metallopolymer Nanogelsproposes" proposes the preparation of two types of photoreleasing macromolecules via the incorporation of photosensitive ruthenium complexes. The photocleavable nanogels (phase 1) could be applied be for non-covalent loading and photochemical release of bioactives, for example larger macromolecular drugs and proteins. The covalent attachment (phase 2) could however be applied to the loading and selective release of small molecules. Hence in this proof-of-concept project we propose a versatile platform which could be used for a wide variety of applications. The exchange will facilitate the bringing together of two groups with complementary capabilities and to allow exchange of personnel and know-how.
