Tourmaline is an important group of accessory minerals that can be found in granitic
pegmatites and many other rock types in the geological environment. Tourmaline is frequently used in research as monitors of melt/fluid composition. Research focus of the project is to gain new data on crystal chemistry of some specific, poorly known tourmalines and their physical properties.
