Why plants live together and how an intruder can most easily penetrate them
Functional and phylogenetic relationship of plant species helps Zdeňka Lososová, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University in Brno, to determine which plants can live together in one plant community. Thanks to this, for example, it is possible to estimate whether the introduced non-native species will take hold in the place, or even if it will not become a danger to the native plants. Associate Professor Lososová's research project was nominated for the Award of the Chairman of the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic last year. (Article available in Czech only.)
